The annual reporting of the CPI, published for September 2018 confirms that the annual percentage increase for police pensions 2019 will be 2.4% (previously 3%).
As from the 1st January 2019 the minimum subscription will be £21.12 (previously £20.64), this amounts to £1.76 per month (previously £1.72).
Your precept rate, which is currently 40%, is payable on your total Branch Members not including spouse or widow members.
This breaks down as: Precept (40%) £8.44 (previously £8.26) – Branch (60%) £12.68 (previously £12.38) – total subscription £21.12 (previously £20.64).
As per Rule 11 (3) the figure of £21.12 (Minimum Subscription) will be the base figure used to calculate any increase for 2020.
The membership figures we hold at the end of December 2018 will be the figures used to calculate your precept for 2019.
As agreed by the NEC each branch will get a contribution equivalent to a reduction of 10% of Precept for 2019 the NARPO Centenary year. This is equal to £2.11 per payable Branch Member and will be allowed to be deducted in full from the first Precept payment due in 2019.
