Update from West Midlands Police Pensions

NARPO have regular meeting with the West Midlands Police Pensions team and we have been informed of the below matters that concern our members,

WMP Pensions Portal

Introduction of the WMP Pensions self-service portal has been delayed until Spring 2019 because of security issues concerning the browser. Work is in progress to resolve this problem and to ensure our information remains safe from hackers.

Change of Circumstances

It is very important that members inform WMP Pensions of any change of circumstances including address or bank changes, marital status and if child pension recipients cease full time education or reach the age of 23.

Deaths should also be reported to WMP Pensions at the earliest opportunity. This will NOT be possible through the Registration Service “Tell Us Once” facility.

Notifying changes promptly ensures that there will be no overpayment of the pension payments. WMP auditors require the Force to minimise incorrect payments and to recover any overpayments. In cases of uncertainty, WMP may suspend pension payments if, for example, correspondence is returned, or banks raise a concern.
