Police Motor Cycle BSA A65/50 Information sought

I was wondering if you could help me?

I’m a writer currently putting together a book on the BSA A65/50 series of motorcycles, with the narrative based strongly around the first hand memories of individuals directly involved at the time. Personal recollections range from those working on the assembly line in the BSA factory in Small Heath through to professional racers. A big hole exists however in relation to the experience of police motorcyclists and those working for the police servicing, maintaining and keeping the bikes running.

Period photographs of several overseas and British police forces will feature prominently in the book – including many from Brierley Hill, including several of the the West Midlands force display team - so I was wondering if there was anyway of forwarding this request to any contacts you might have connected to the West Midlands force and the forces immediately preceding it (as we're talking about the period 1965-1975 realistically)?

If you have any leads or suggestions I'd be highly appreciative, As I'd be really interested to talk to anyone who had a connection to those machines, during that 1965-1975 period. I can be reached on 07966 575182 or petercrawford360@gmail.com and I'd be more than happy to call anyone back.

Many thanks

Pete Crawford
