Tuesday, 14 August, 2025 - Hogroast

6pm onwards, at the Hawkesmill Sports and Social Football Club, Hawkesmill Lane, Coventry, CV5 9FN.  In 2019 and 2021 we held a hog roast for our members and it proved a great success. We are repeating the event for 2025 using the same organisers and at the same location.

The event is free of charge to Coventry NARPO members and one guest to include a free drink. Additional guests may be permitted but will have to pay a small fee of £10 per person, and will not include a free drink.

It is quite a small club but there is ample parking - the entrance is in Hawkesmill Lane, down a small lane on the right, about 200 yards from the junction with Browns Lane (going out of the city). Hopefully the weather will be nice and there is a grassed area with plenty of seating to enjoy ourselves. Or we can go inside the Club if the weather is inclement. There is a bar inside the Club we can use.

The hog roast will consist of a pig (or half pig, depending on numbers) cooked over flames on a rotisserie. The meat will be served on bread rolls with apple sauce, stuffing and gravy available. Vegetarian alternatives will also be available - must be notified in advance. Beef Burgers etc. could also be served if pork is not to your liking - again please notify us in advance.

In order to gauge what we order, we do need some idea of numbers. So if you would like to come along please contact our Social Secretary, Bernie Cook with details of numbers attending, and any special requests regarding food. It would be nice to see as many members as possible
